In 2013 Sarah Barker was joint Winner of Tap Gallery’s Out of my Pocket mobile phone competition and winner of its People’s Choice Award.  Sarah's mobile phone photo portrait, "Jon after swimming", was a finalist in the 2014 DUO Magazine Percival Photographic Portrait Prize.

A selection of this work was exhibited in association with Head On Photo Festival at Gauge Gallery from 20 May - 1 June 2014.

Sarah's mobile phone photograph, "Green Space", was included in Lensculture's selection 21st Century Street Photography: 250 New Examples in November 2015.

In 2016 Sarah was a finalist in the Head On Mobile Prize (Australia) and the MPA's Shadow Stories exhibiting at 16 Mile Arts in Canada.  Sarah's mobile phone photograph "Redfern Landscape" was selected as a finalist in the 2017 CLIP Award for Landscape Photography.

Sarah’s series “Up on the MCA Roof” was awarded an Honourable Mention for Cell Phone Photography in the 2019 Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers. In the same year an image from this series was selected as a finalist in the Bowness Award and in 2020 this image was awarded an Honourable Mention for Street Photography in the Mobile Photography Awards.

In 2021 Sarah’s mobile phone photograph “Pandemic Perambulation” was winner of the The Lucie Foundation Guardian Project: Street Photography category. This image was also published in the book #ICPConcerned: Global Images for Global Crisis.
